Congratulations to our Stylist of the Month for August, Carlie! Carlie is a Stylist at our Greece, NY salon. We wanted to ask her a few questions about her and her time at Lady Jane’s!

LJ: What inspired you to get into the hair industry?

I’ve been interested in the beauty industry since I was young because I’m a visual learner and naturally gravitate toward creative work. The opportunity to express creativity while helping others look and feel their best inspired me to pursue this career.

LJ: What’s the best part about working at Lady Jane’s that keeps you coming back every day?

The best part of working at Lady Jane’s is the positive and supportive atmosphere created by my coworkers. They have taught me so much and they make every day enjoyable.

LJ: What type of music do you listen to?

I have a diverse taste in music and enjoy listening to all kinds of genres. Country is probably my favorite in the summer!

LJ: What are you doing when you’re not behind the chair?

When I’m not cutting hair, I enjoy kayaking, working in my vegetable garden, taking walks with my cats in a stroller, and attending Pilates classes with some of my coworkers.

LJ: If you could give one professional athlete a haircut, who would it be and why?

If I could give any professional athlete a haircut, I would choose Sean O’Malley. He is known for dyeing his hair fun colors, so I think he would be willing to let me create a unique and creative hairstyle for him.

LJ: What’s one tool you can’t live without on your station and why?

One tool I can’t live without at my station is my foil shaver. I rely on it to create clean, sharp beard lines and achieve smooth bald fades.

LJ: What’s a piece of advice you live by (in or out of the salon)?

A piece of advice I live by, both in and out of the salon, is to treat others the way you want to be treated. I strive to create a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere because I believe a great haircut should come with a great experience.

LJ: Best compliment a client has ever given you?

I really appreciate a customer taking the time to leave a positive review about the skin fade I gave him, saying it made him happy after a long week. Feedback like that motivates me to keep providing the best possible service to every client!

LJ: Which Lady Jane’s product do you swear by and why?
