Congratulations to our Stylist of the Month for March, Alisdaire. Alisdaire is a Stylist at our Greenfield, WI salon. We wanted to ask her a few questions about her and her time at Lady Jane’s!

LJ: Favorite part about cutting hair at LJ?

My favorite part about cutting hair at LJ is the variety of haircuts I get to do! Every client has a different style of how they like their hair, and I’m happy I get to do different cuts everyday

LJ: Favorite sports team and why?

I don’t really have a favorite sports team but if I had to choose I would say the Packers. I’ve grown up with the Packers all around me because of my family so they’re what I know.

LJ: What type of music do you listen to?

I love to listen to R&B, hip hop, and some country music!

LJ: What hobbies do you enjoy in your free time?

My favorite hobbies are shopping and doing things with my handsome dobie dog!

LJ: Clippers or scissors?

Clippers!

LJ: What’s your favorite LJ product to use?

I love American Crew Fiber Cream!

LJ: 10-second pitch on why LJ is the only place for a guy to get a haircut.

Here at Lady Jane’s we have a welcoming and comfortable environment, each stylist specializes in different services and have great personalities that make clients comfortable! The energy in the building is always great, men and kids are entertained with watching sports and chatting with their stylists whilst getting cleaned up

LJ: What is your motto to live by?

“You don’t have to look a certain way, you have to carry a certain intimacy. Don’t let privilege blur your empathy”

LJ: What made you want to be a cosmetologist?

At first my passion was to do hair, learn things I “already” knew, and become better while making money doing it! It wasn’t until I was learning about human anatomy, color theory, chemicals, and techniques in beauty school that sparked a deeper meaning behind wanting to be a cosmetologist. Understanding how such little things you wouldn’t typically think of could change hair so much! Becoming a cosmetologist not only gives me time to learn and advance but also time to engage with people like my awesome clients! I believe becoming a cosmetologist was not to try and become the teacher but to always be the student and learn every aspect of my passion
