Stylist of the Month
Congratulations to our Stylist of the Month for May, Alex! Alex is a Stylist at our Shelby Township, MI salon. We wanted to ask her a few questions about her and her time at Lady Jane’s!
LJ: What’s the best part about working at Lady Jane’s that keeps you coming back every day?
The bonds I have built in this industry are for sure what keep me coming back. Between the clients and stylists you work with on a daily basis, you meet so many interesting people.
LJ: If you could give one professional athlete a haircut, who would it be and why?
It wouldn’t be an athlete; it would be the coach of the Lions, Dan Campbell. If you can bring the Lions back as a team, you can give good advice on getting a salon to be a strong team.
LJ: What type of music do you listen to?
I love all kinds of music; I'm very versatile.
LJ: What are you doing when you’re not behind the chair?
I spend a lot of time with my dog and my family.
LJ: What’s one tool you can’t live without on your station and why?
Definitely my texturizing scissors, it makes a big difference with at-home styling for my clients.
LJ: Which Lady Jane’s product do you swear by and why?
Defining Paste is my favorite product to use, perfect amount of hold without being too sticky or too shiny.
LJ: In one sentence, why should someone choose Lady Jane’s for their next haircut?
Lady Jane’s is just a very homey & welcoming environment to anyone and everyone. From the serious times to the funny moments, we’re here to listen.
LJ: What’s a piece of advice you live by (in or out of the salon)?
Treat people how you want to be treated, even in uncomfortable moments. It always circles back to you.
LJ: What inspired you to get into the hair industry?
I grew up always doing something different to my own hair and styling all my sisters’ hair, realizing how fun it can be. I'm always learning new styles as things change.
LJ: Best compliment a client has ever given you?
I’ve recently had a client tell me how personable I am with my clients, from remembering what’s going on in their lives, building relationships, and keeping the conversations going, all while giving a good experience in the chair.
