Stylist of the Month

Congratulations to our Stylist of the Month for November, Emily Rybinski! Emily cuts and co-manages our salon in Woodhaven, MI, and we are so proud to have her on our team! We wanted to ask Emily a few questions about her life as a stylist and about her time at Lady Jane's.

LJ: As a Wicked Awesome STYLIST, what's your favorite part about cutting hair at LJ?

EMILY: I honestly love everything about working at Lady Jane’s. Being able to be myself while doing what I love in a fun atmosphere is the best. Also, my clients. They are so loyal! I just recently transferred stores that are about 30 minutes away from each other and seeing my clients follow me is such a rewarding feeling! I’m so thankful for them.

LJ: Since sports are such a large part of the LJ experience, what's your favorite sports team & why?

EMILY: I love sports & am a fan of all Detroit teams. Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and Pistons. There’s nothing like heading downtown to tailgate and go to the games. I’m also a UofM fan, Go Blue!

LJ: What type of music do you listen to?

EMILY: Rap music is my favorite. At work, I like to throw on 2000’s hits on Pandora too!

LJ: What do you enjoy?

EMILY: Outside of work, I enjoy family time. I am married and have a two year old son. I love being a mom. My son, Camden, is my little bff. We like to go shopping on my days off. My husband and I enjoy going to concerts and sports games. Our favorite thing to do as a family is to head up north and relax. I also like to treat myself to massages.

LJ: Scissor cuts or clipper cuts?

EMILY: Bald fades are my favorite. There’s nothing like seeing that clean fade, it’s so satisfying!

LJ: What is your favorite LJ product for guys to use?

EMILY: Matte Separation. It works with any hairstyle, has a natural look, and lasts all day.

LJ: What's your 10 second pitch on why LJ is the ONLY place for a guy to get his haircut?

EMILY: Lady Jane’s provides clients with a top-notch experience you won’t find anywhere else! It’s the place for a guy to get pampered. Between the menu of services we have, the tv’s, sports, the atmosphere, and the quality of each service, why would you want to go anywhere else?!

LJ: If you had a motto to live by, what would it be and why?

EMILY: “Just go with the flow” If there is one thing I have learned, it’s that there is no reason to sweat the small stuff. Everything always works itself out and if not, it wasn’t meant to be.

LJ: And lastly, what lead you to become a cosmetologist?

EMILY: When I was 6 years old, I decided to chop all of my sister’s hair off right before her preschool pictures. My sister and I thought it looked fabulous. My parents disagreed. But from that moment on, I knew I wanted to be a hair stylist. I’ve always had a passion for it and I’m glad I followed my heart to do what I love.
