While we’ve been afforded so many blessings in life, we truly believe that we have a higher purpose: to give back. We could have easily given money to already-established causes, but it wouldn’t have given us the personal interaction we desire. With this principle in mind, we created Wicked Awesome Wishes as a means of giving back, setting out to establish a charity like no other. We consider WAW an honest-to-goodness, well-intentioned, non-profit organization based on the idea that charity is supposed to support the community of people who are in need and that helps people directly. People — down-to-earth, real people — helped us build our business and our livelihood. It is those people, often blue collar Detroiters, who form the basis of all we do. That’s why we formed our charity to support any individual in need and make their wishes come true.

Visiting Angels was established as a nursing facility to provide care for senior citizens. Providing the best care possible to seniors and training for their staff is part of their philosophy. Proceeds from the event will assist with the Alzheimer's Association search to find a cure for this horrible disease.
Learn MoreThanks to the generosity of Wicked Awesome Wishes and Lady Jane’s, Sherry and Eugene Cotton, along with their grandson Jaxson, have received an update on their kitchen, a gift that supports both safety and daily functionality for their family.
Sherry and Eugene are the primary caregivers for their grandson Jaxson, a young boy with Autism, ADHD, and who is non-verbal. Jaxson is full of energy and curiosity, but his unique needs pose everyday challenges, especially in a home not designed for safety or accessibility.
Their old kitchen, located in a narrow galley-style layout, had serious limitations. The stove protrudes past the doorway, leaving it dangerously accessible from the dining room. Jaxson, not understanding the dangers of heat, often stood at the wall and touched the stove putting him at constant risk of burns or serious injury. The layout also prevented safe and simultaneous use of both the stove and refrigerator, making meal prep especially difficult and unsafe.
In this older home, built long before modern building codes prioritized accessibility or child safety, the Cottons were desperate for help. Their greatest wish was a safer environment where they could begin teaching Jaxson essential life skills , tailored to his abilities without putting him in harm’s way.
Wicked Awesome Wishes and Lady Jane’s stepped in to completely renovate the kitchen. The new layout prioritizes safety, accessibility, and functionality, giving Sherry and Eugene the tools they need to care for Jaxson in a more secure, supportive space.
